A Newcastle mobile phone company has pledged to support the Douglas Macmillan Hospice as part of its tenth birthday celebrations.
Complete ICT based on Etruria Road are celebrating a decade in business this year. They’ve named the Trentham based Hospice as their charity of the year after seeing the pressures Covid-19 has had on fundraising abilities.

The company which specialises in supplying businesses with mobile phones, landline and broadband products as well as vehicle tracking systems was founded by Stoke-on-Trent businessmen Tim Shufflebotham and Nick Holland in 2010.
Fellow employee Chris Whitehouse joined the growing company in 2014 and they now have clients across the UK.
Last April Complete ICT took part in the 140-mile Coast2Coast bike ride to raise £2000 for mental health charity Mind. It was in memory of their friend DJ Jackson Cummings who died in 2019. This year they’re hoping to raise as much money for the Dougie Mac.
Tim said: “The Hospice has a special place in many peoples’ hearts in this city. It’s hard for charities to raise funds at the best of times but it’s even harder for them at the moment with charity shops shut and events cancelled because of Coronavirus.
The 43-year-old added: “As a local company we want to be able to give something back and supporting the Dougie Mac is our way of doing that. We’re planning a number of events for later in the year obviously when it’s safe to do so including a charity Golf Day.
38-year-old Nick explained: “Despite the current circumstances which we know is hard on everyone we felt it was important to mark our birthday by supporting a local charity. We are pleased to have been in business for the last decade and we put our longevity down to that personal touch.
We don’t have a team of salespeople, it’s me, Tim and Chris who our clients deal with direct, so we build relationships which we feel is really important in terms of customer service. When all this is over the plan is to continue growing and to look to the future.”
