It’s National Careers Week and here at Legs PR we’re always keen to help support those who want to pursue a career in PR or the media.
For the last five years our founder Tamsin Parker has also taught on the Journalism/Sports Journalism courses at Staffordshire University.
It meant our first Legs PR intern Charlotte Yorke was a Journalism student and completed her work placement with us. She was so fantastic and such an asset to the team that she joined us as a PR Assistant for around 18 months.
As part of her degree Charlotte went into schools to deliver sessions on journalism to encourage students to pursue it as a possible career – she also helped us with our media training sessions. She decided that she loved that side of things so much she wanted to pursue a new dream of becoming a teacher.

She’s since completed all her qualifications and has got her first job as a secondary school teacher. Whilst we were really sad to see her go, we are so thankful she was part of our team and are delighted and proud to see her doing so well. Charlotte – you know there is always a role with us if you ever want to come back to PR.
Working with our local universities has always been important to us – not only to be able to give students opportunities to gain valuable industry and help them on their career path but also to be able to learn from our younger generation.
In the Autumn we teamed up with Keele University as part of their Student Knowledge Exchange Internship programme and are so glad we did.
It meant we got to meet and work with Emily Goodwin– our newest recruit.
Emily joined us after graduating from Keele with a first-class honour’s degree in English, some experience in marketing and a real desire to learn more about that and PR.

She hit the ground running and has made a real difference to our team- so much so that this month -she joined us on a permanent basis as our brand-new PR and Marketing Assistant. Welcome to the Legs PR team – it’s great to have you on board – here’s to the first steps of your career – you’re going to smash it.
