An award-winning authorised Samsung Partner has recruited a new Chief Executive as part of ambitious growth plans.
Staffordshire based TMT First have named the former Assurant European Chief Operating Officer, Darren Billings as their new CEO.
During his 11-year career at Assurant, Darren served in a number of roles that also included Senior Vice President of Global Operations and leading the integration of the $2.5bn acquisition of The Warranty Group.
Founder Adam Whitehouse will now be focusing on new business development and driving the sustainability benefits TMT First can bring to new business as well as managing client relationships.
Darren joins TMT First, at a time when it continues to invest in response to strong demand for its range of specialist repair and value-added services – all with the aim of ‘keeping consumer technology alive for longer.’
Adam Whitehouse, Founder and Managing Director of TMT First said: “It’s the right time to separate my role into two parts, creating a new dedicated CEO role that allows me to focus on maximising the market opportunities and managing our key client and partner relationships.
He added: “I’m delighted that Darren is joining TMT First at such an exciting time. We will see our repair services headcount double in size this year and Darren’s experience of working in high growth businesses, scaling operations, and managing profit and loss performance will be invaluable. He will help us drive TMT forward and will be an absolute asset to our team.”
New Chief Executive Darren said: “I’m delighted to be joining TMT at this exciting time. The business has enjoyed an incredible period of growth thanks to the professionalism, skill and incredible dedication of the TMT team. I feel privileged to be joining the business and I look forward to continuing TMT’s journey as a market leader and sustainability innovator.”
In another new appointment this month Laura-Jane Wootton has also joined the team in a newly created position as Human Resources and Recruitment Manager.
TMT were founded in 2006 and are a Samsung approved partner. They’re based in Newcastle-under-Lyme and specialise in repairing Samsung mobile devices including mobile phones and tablets as well as other leading makes and models. They also buy and sell new, refurbished and various graded devices directly to businesses.
Over the last two years the company has doubled its workforce as well as winning a number of awards, including a Keele University Breaking the Mould Award for Sustainability just last month.
