Five years ago today we launched Legs PR. How quickly has that gone? It doesn’t seem five minutes since we were waiting for the website to go live and for our new business cards to arrive – and now here we are half a decade on (and a little bit greyer to boot.)
We’ve worked on some fantastic projects, made lots of new business contacts who are now good friends and continue to work with our brilliant clients.
It’s not always gone exactly as planned. We could never have predicted a pandemic but we worked hard, kept the faith and ploughed on, with our brilliant clients and business colleagues all pulling together to support one another and here we are bigger than before – with a new PR and Marketing Assistant – and are back face to face training again. We have definitely missed that!
So, five years in – what have we learnt?
- Everyday’ s a school day. We’re always learning from the businesses we work with and finding ways of doing things.
- Relationships are key. People do business with people they like and trust – and we’ve met some brilliant people with some fantastic businesses along the way.
- Expect the unexpected. Who could have predicted a global pandemic? Being adaptable, keeping your nerve and staying focused in business is vital. If things don’t work out exactly as planned or work goes in a different direction – that’s totally fine, enjoy the ride!
- You never switch off. Wanting the best for your clients, working to tight deadlines, working on the business as well as in the business means a straight 9 to 5 is often out the window. When you’ve got a job you love though – It never feel like work.
And 1825 days on – we still love what we do. It sounds cliched but no two days are the same and no two clients are the same either. Our work is so varied that it always stays interesting. Everyone has a story to tell, and we get the privilege of helping people tell theirs.
Thank you to everyone who works with us. You absolutely rock. Here’s to the next five years – and who knows, a brand-new office might just be around the corner…
